Stick With It

If Erica annoyed you in book 1, she is going to have you seething in book 2. She's nowhere near the smart person she purports herself to be and you'll probably kick yourself for allowing yourself to be drawn into this insanity. But by the end, I was back in a good enough place with these characters to stick it out for book 3. In my review of book 1, I said I preferred Blake to our heroine, and that hasn't changed. I seem to like her less as the story progresses. Blake, however, has become one of the reasons I stick this story out. Book 3 is on its way. I wish I could say I loved this series. I guess if the author can do enough to keep me reading though, then she has done her job. It's difficult for me to encourage folk to buy a book that's so aggravating, but if you can deal with that, I still say you'll come out better for it than reading that other poorly wriiten series folk keep comparing this one to.

Secrets, surprises, suspense, seduction, sweet sparks....SCRUMPDILIUMPTIOUS

...ok, so I've got groceries to shop for; a yoga class to attend (which I cancelled); numerous errands to run and can no longer ignore; my hair needs washing for cripes sake! and I'm beginning to resent the needs and daily demands coming from my family. And ya wanna know why?...because this frikkin' book has taken me hostage! My life has come to a screeching halt. Cobwebs are growing in my windows and family sits around the table with their utensils poised...waiting for their meals while I gripe at them to "get up and get it yourselves...I'm in the middle of a real nail-biter here"...and I blame it all on Ms. Meredith Wild!!! Holy hawtness Batman...Ms. Wild, whuddaya doin' to me?!!?? I'm fallin' apart and it's all because of this testosterone menace...this stud-i-licious, all day lollipop that is Blake Landon. He's so arrogant...such a devilishly delicious, achingly gorgeous hawt yummy piece of cheeze... Yeah, he can be a controlling jerk sometimes...especially when it comes to his obsession, Erica Hathaway.
And Erica...hoo boy! She's dealing with the emotional trauma from a sexual assault...trauma that has resurfaced and is taking center stage in her life. All-the-while getting her fashion social network up and running; trying to flush out the hackers that are sabotaging and threatening to shut her down. All of this on top of her rapist reconnecting with her with an obsessive stalkers interest. And THEN....THEN...discovering who her biological father is...and isn't...and surviving death threats and being manipulated by greedy politicians up for election. I ask you, can it get any better?!? Any more suspenseful?
This is the second installment to this The Hacker Series 5 Books Set by Meredith Wild series...This is one of those fabulous roller coaster rides that gives a total "body grab"...the ride that causes your tummy to flip. It completely engulfed me making me incapable of putting the story down. Nothing got done...everything was neglected...and if I WAS able to set the story down briefly, my concentration was worthless...completely gone as I could think of nothing but getting back to my story. I loved this story and Ms. Wild hit that ball outta the park with this fabulous plot of romantic dramatic suspense. This author has the fantastic ability/talent (or at least this humble reader thinks so..), of portraying and unfolding each scene to its zenith with technicolor and brilliant clarity building to a fabulous ear splitting crescendo. Before the reader is even aware what has happened, the Author has you captured and enthralled with the storyline as it deepens and the plot thickens. Character descriptions are spot on. Dialogue is original and well balanced with just enough narration told in first person. I loved how Ms. Wild painstakingly draws the reader into a slightly mysterious, yet sweet and intriguing romantic plot and leads us, inch by wonderfully delicious slow inch, through each step and phase of progression of Erica and Blake's hawt connection. Ms. Wild so capably and thoroughly conveys the angst and drama that Erica finds herself in...as well as the wonderful progression and raw excitement of the newness of the beginning of a hawt mutual connection between two people. Outstanding. There's no rush and because Ms. Wilds' talented capabilities..because of her expert writing, the reader has no choice but to feel connected as one with the main characters...there is no other alternative than to fall into the emotional romantic excitement . The journey is absolutely exquisite and delightful throughout. It never loses momentum. I loved the attraction between Erica and Blake and how it quickly grew into a raging inferno. She's soft to his hard- - she's sunshine to his dark. She's innocence to his roughness. And he quickly becomes lost without her. She becomes his reason to plan a tomorrow. I absolutely LOVED how she unintentionally made mincemeat out of his best controlling intentions. She not only becomes his reason for breathing...she becomes the very air itself. She's the thrum of his pulse and every whisper of his conscience....and he is hers. Erica is just as consumed with him. Brilliant Ms. Wild. Absolutely brilliant.

THIS SERIES IS A MUST READ!!!!!

WOW! Just WOW!! I absolutely loved this book and stayed up until 3:30 AM as I just could not put it down once I started it.
One of the most important things about a good book, to me, is being able to make a connection with the female lead. I loved Erika! Strong but flawed, a fighter and a compromiser, selfless and selfish, but so capable of love and so deserving of it. I absolutely loved her character. I can totally get her and the decisions she makes throughout the book. Even though you want to scream at her "NO!", you know exactly why she is doing it and that you would be doing the same thing.
And Blake, well, holy hotness!! His alpha-ness leaps right off the pages! Wow - just wow! There were some seriously hot scenes!! But he was written with such depth and character, that he was not just another rich, alpha, Dom, but a man you could respect, want to love and would willingly submit to. One of my favorite quotes from him: "That's it. Now you are going to come loud and hard and introduce me to the neighbors."
This book is full of passion, drama, intrigue, heartbreak, steaminess, mystery and love. I enjoyed book 1 in Meredith Wild's Hacker series, but I was just blown away by book 2. I cannot wait for book 3 as I must have more of Erika and Blake ASAP!!! -Tynna, Kiss And Tell Reviews, [...]
